Programmer

We are looking for an outstanding programmer with practical experience in real-time computer graphics to help in the research and development of Word Lens here at our ‘Bay office. The role is part computer vision and part real-time low-level graphics programming and optimization. We do not use other people's libraries, we write our own.

We are writing history as we go along, so we are looking for someone who will understand our problems and come up with creative solutions that work inside the parameters of our system. Think "can do" entrepreneur, not "but nobody told me" employee — so this might not be the right job for everyone.

We are pushing the boundaries of what mobile devices are capable of. It is not easy, but we think it’s lots of fun.

Responsibilities:

Help support and extend core OCR and Augmented Reality libraries
Program graphics libraries down to the assembly level

Requirements:

C++ (light on the ++), C#, Assembly
Low level coding experience — assembly language and vector instruction sets
Computer graphics expert
Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
Good at math
Fluent in English

Pluses

Assembly (ARM, ARM NEON), Objective C, Java
Video game console programming experience
Experience with pixel shader programming and/or Cuda
Understanding of machine learning concepts
Understanding of OCR techniques
Speaking another language
Passionate about travel
